Andrea Burhoe, will be leading a discussion about pines. To illustrate the conversation she is bringing an assortment of pines; black, white, mugo, Monterey, ponderosa and encourages members to bring a pine from their collection to discus styling and care. Andrea is a long time member of BSSF whose path has led to her overseeing the pines in residence at the Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt. She works on all the pines there both in pots and in the ground. If you are not familiar with the pines in the Lake Merritt Collection you would do well to familiarize yourself with them. Andrea has a wealth of experience and an endless supply of generosity. If you want to grow pines Thursday night will be a good step on the way. Andrea is bringing a few black pines along and will invite those attending to “do seasonal work on them” . Afterward they will be for sale. A more mature tree will also be available for study, discussion and a new owner.
