Jun 11th: Our world famous (well, at least Bay Area famous) Mr. Tim Kong will be presenting our June meeting on using coastal redwoods as bonsai. World’s tallest trees? Not in our bonsai gardens. Tim will cover all the basics of redwood care from collecting, root pruning, branch bending, to growing. Best of all, these redwoods are ideal for beginners learning bonsai because of their quick growth habits. May 16th: Part I of our Bonsai Basics Class will be offered on May 16 at the Hall of Flowers from 10AM-2PM. This class is a basic introductory course to the bonsai hobby and serves as the basis for all club workshops and activities. We cover bonsai styles, fundamentals, tools, and tree design.
