Statement of Purpose

The Bonsai Society of San Francisco exists to perpetuate the enjoyment of the art of bonsai.

Whether defined simply as a tree in a tray or taken to the heights of a living fine art form we come together to share our joy and curiosity for growing living trees and our enthusiasm for keeping them healthy and beautiful.

We invite new members who share these interests.

• Regular club meetings on the second Thursday of each month with programs designed to expand our knowledge and experience of bonsai and related subjects.
• A free monthly workshop for hands-on experience with your own trees on the third Thursday of each month.
• Annual orientation class for new members.

• Monthly club newsletter with news of local and statewide bonsai events and seasonal technical tips.

• Annual Club Field Trips to area bonsai nurseries and to collecting grounds where members can add to their collections.
